How to Pay For Tubal Reversal Surgery

Many women who’ve had a tubal ligation later decide they want to become pregnant or reverse tubaligation side-effects, and therefore seek a tubal reversal. This procedure can cost several thousands of dollars that many women cannot afford to pay out of pocket. There are several options available for funding a tubal reversal. Keep in mind that there are the doctor’s fees, anesthesia fees and costs associated with the surgical facility among other costs.

If a woman cannot pay the entire amount up front, she can save the money. While this might take a while it can be done. Then the amount will be paid in full and there will be no future bills to worry about. If it’s difficult to save money because there isn’t much left over after paying for necessities, then one should consider cutting out things that are more of a luxury than a necessity, such as cable TV. Perhaps one could cut out their morning coffee binges and pack their lunch. With these small savings, over time one can easily rack up enough money to pay for their surgery.

Another option is to pick up a second job to help in saving for tubal reversal surgery. One would be able to save quickly with the additional income provided by a second part-time job.

Another funding option would be to finance the surgery through the doctor providing the surgery. Many surgeons will having a payment plan in which you can finance the costs of the surgery and all other costs associated with the surgery. If you cannot finance through the doctor, you may try to get a personal loan from the bank. Interest rates will be more favorable than using a credit card. But, you may find you need use a credit card to pay for the surgery.

Ovarian Cyst Cure Works For Kidney Cysts

Posted by nisbinfo | Healthy Living | Thursday 21 January 2010 10:22 am

The Doctor said “You have a cyst on your left kidney and maybe one on an ovary. I want more pictures.” My first thought was to wonder if the ovarian cysts cure works for kidney cysts. But, I’m getting ahead of myself. The pain was in the vicinity of my lowest left rib. And it had been bothering me for a while. Not as debilitating as I know an ovarian cyst can be, but painful enough to send me to the doctor. (A trip I try to avoid.)

The Doctor told me they would do nothing different for the kidney cyst than for the ovarian cyst, (the further pictures had found one,) which is do nothing for 2 – 3 months and see how it goes. Coincidentally, I had recently read about a natural way to cure ovarian cysts. Natural is my preference. If it is available, and my doctor concurs I will always go that way. In this case she gave me the go ahead.

My reasons for preferring natural methods are simply respect for my body. The common treatments for ovarian cysts are drugs and surgery. I was happy to try the natural method before we chose something more severe.

The surgery usually preferred for ovarian cysts is laproscopic, but it is still surgery; still an invasion of the body; still with inherent risks. If they do laproscopic surgery they will insert an instrument that is a tiny camera into your abdomen through a small slit near the navel. When they can see their target they will remove it by way of another small incision near the groin area. This description is very brief and of course every situation is unique. None the less, I was glad to avoid it.

The other often used treatment for ovarian cyst is hormone drugs. This just doesn’t make sense to me at all. Screwed up hormones may contribute to the forming of ovarian cysts. Why would I want to take a drug that could do unnatural things to my hormonal balance? No thanks.

The natural method deals with diet, recommending high fiber fruits and vegetables, avoiding caffeine (don’t forget that colas can be high caffeine) and alcohol. It deals with exercise, recommending walking for everyone, and more if you can do it. It also includes specific exercises which take the pressure off the cysts and thereby ease your pain. The tension in your whole body that can be brought about by stress is a definite contributor to a painful cyst. A natural treatment will teach you ways to ease stress and help heal your cysts.

For me, the best thing about natural ovarian cyst cures is that they get to the root cause of the problem. Thereby removing the probability of re-occurring cysts. Drugs and surgery deal with the immediate cysts, but are not guaranteed to stop future development, and the chances are high that they will return. Hormone drugs that control ovulation (or prevent it) do keep many women free of cysts as long as they stay on them. But, that is not my choice.

So I chose to follow a natural treatment plan for ovarian cysts with the hope (actually with the confidence) that it would also improve or cure my kidney cyst as well. I believe it did? When I saw my doctor again 10 weeks later I was cyst free. Did my choice of treatment clear up both kinds of cyst? Did they just go away by themselves? Who can say? I choose to believe in the plan I followed, and I am continuing it in the belief that I am healthier for it.

Advertising STDs

Posted by nisbinfo | Healthy Living | Thursday 7 January 2010 10:22 am

Many TV adverts have tried to raise awareness of STDs. Here are a few of the most unusual ones…

Talking about STDs can be an awkward business, just ask any sex education teacher! But while it may be awkward, it is also necessary – with many countries experiencing rising rates of STDs, it is important that people are aware of the risks and will go for an STD test if they’ve had unsafe sex.

Increasingly, it isn’t just being left to parents and teachers to educate people about the perils of STDs – governments, condom manufacturers and health organisations are increasingly getting involved. TV adverts promoting safe sex and STD awareness are getting more and more common, but it remains a tricky subject to advertise. How do you effectively convey a message about a taboo subject?

Some are serious, some are funny, but one thing is usually guaranteed – STD adverts are amongst the most inventive and memorable television adverts out there! Here are a few of the most well known ones of recent years…

AIDS is a Mass Murderer

This recent advert caused something of a stir when it first aired in Germany. Showing a couple coming back to a flat and beginning to have sex, it is revealed in the very last frame that the man making love to the woman is in fact Adolf Hitler, followed by the slogan “AIDs is a Mass Murderer”. AIDs charities objected to the stigmatisation of HIV and AIDs sufferers – most other people seemed to think it was just a funny and bizarre twist to an advert. Whether it will make someone go for an STD test is anyone’s guess!

Condom for your Umbrella?

Africa is a continent that has long been troubled by HIV and AIDs, and condom manufacturers have tried to be doubly inventive to promote safe sex. This African advert showed a man meeting a women who is putting away her umbrella, but loses the umbrella cover to the wind. Smiling, the man pulls out a condom, and stretches it the entire length of the umbrella. It was a novel attempt to show that the old excuse (“condoms are too small”) really doesn’t apply unless you are of truly gargantuan proportions, though the fact that a watching crowd burst into applause during the ‘climax’ lent the advert a somewhat surreal air…

Give Me What You’ve Got

This NHS advert ingeniously featured a number of couples undressing with the names of Sexually transmitted diseases (STDs) written on their underwear, with a rather catchy tune in the background repeating the line “Give me what you got.” This somewhat raunchy advert ran into the same problems as a lot of STD adverts (it’s quite hard to show people having sex and convince viewers that this is a bad thing!) but it certainly provided some memorable imagery.

Practising safe sex and going for an STD test when necessary are vital steps to maintaining sexual health, but they’ve also given rise to some truly bizarre ad campaigns. Whatever the future holds for STDs, it’s safe to say we’ll be seeing plenty more strange adverts in the years to come.
